The Airstream was still in Ohio, so we set up at the corner and went to work anyway. The espresso machine ran all evening, the ice cream held, and the fireworks went off on schedule.

The Evening

The first one is always the real one.

No window, no polished aluminum, no awning. A folding table, a borrowed corner, and the first cup we ever sold.

What comes next

The Austere Coffee Bar at Cohab.Space in High Point opens in early August. The Airstream is at the Airstream factory in Jackson Center, Ohio, finishing its rebuild. When it comes home, it comes home working.
